00004: The Black Hole - 1

Black hole , Sound interesting right ?

It's just as amazing as it sounds.

Let me break this down for you , what pulls us down & keeps us on earth without letting us fly?

It's Gravity right , so basically gravity is a force of attraction, in our case between earth and us.

So, a black hole is a place where the force of gravity is so strong that nothing around it can escape, not even the fastest light can't escape from it.

So you may ask, then why isn't everything around it getting pulled into it ?

So, there exists a special boundary around the black hole called Event Horizon, it is that kind of border where once anything crosses it, there's no way escaping except going towards the black hole. Not even light can escape when it crosses this Event Horizon.

Then how can we see the black holes ?

We can't see black holes directly, because to see any object, according to physics, that object should reflect at least some of the light which falls on it. But in the case of black holes, there's no point of reflection , only absorbing.

How do we know they exist at that place?

With Space telescopes and special tools, we can observe the difference in behaviour of the stars near to the black hole and other stars.

How big are black holes ?

Well, they come in different sizes, scientists estimate that a black hole can be as small as an atom with huge mass and the largest ever discovered blackhole in the known universe is TON618 which has a mass of 66 billion solar masses( 1 solar mass is 1.989 x 10^30 kgs).

Is there any possibility that Earth will be pulled into a black hole??

Luckily, there's no eligible black hole in the vicinity of our solar system to do that, so don't worry, at least we are safe from the black holes.

The First ever picture of a black hole in the Messier 87 galaxy was taken on this day in 2019

( 10-04-2019):

The first ever image of a blackhole.

The Event Horizon Telescope(EHT) captured this black hole which is 55 million light years away from the earth and in mass 6.5 billion times of the sun.

What is going to happen if you fall into a black hole?

Surprisingly, no one practically tried it, but theoretically there's no coming back if you fall into a black hole. No matter what kind of black hole you fall into, one possibility is that you'll instantly die due to the massive amount of force pulling you, you might just get incinerated instantly.

What if there's a situation where you survive, there's no coming back anyway, so what can you expect at the other end....?

Another universe...?

An oblivion...?

It's still a mystery.

Stay tuned.
